Looking ahead to 2022

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

Making Waves Marketing was born from a pandemic.

We couldn’t sit around and wait for the next big thing to come to us, so we got to work and created our own next big thing. Over the last year and a half so much has changed. Early on someone made a comment that really stuck with me. “We are surviving to thrive.” And that’s exactly what we did!

2021 started in yet another level of transformation from the original creation of Making Waves. I found myself operating independently, hustling and questioning, laughing and crying, working and lounging. It was a rollercoaster to say the least. I’m sharing this, because so many people I’ve spoken with had these same emotions. What am I doing? Is this the right path? Should I go get a job?

Taking the time to dig deep, really think about what I wanted I realized building a successful business was it. I immediately put my head down and got to work. I knew the value I could bring and I understood what they were looking for in a marketing agency, or as I like to think of it, a partner. As soon as I believed in myself and opened up to the opportunity things turned around. The ambition and hustle got real. The phone started to ring. People wanted and needed my help!

We went from working with attorneys, general contractors and insurance agents back to the world of entertainment. The year and the clients taught me so much. Now when I get to work on a brand strategy or an advertising plan, I’m looking at everything with a new perspective. Working with industries I was not experienced with, pushed me to discover new tactics and develop new strategies. I start every client meeting with “WHY”. What are you trying to accomplish? That’s the first step in marketing anyone should start with. Otherwise, how can you measure your success?

With a growing client base of varying needs I was able to bring in a team to help support the workload. The team is now working with Primo Entertainment, who is bringing Beyond Monet to Miami. Our team will be an extension of the local promoter working to develop partnerships and third-party promotions throughout the tri-county area. It’s what we know!

Right Angle Entertainment is another great client. We are helping with advertising plans for various touring shows across the country. Helping to promote in markets like Fresno, CA, Baltimore, MD and New Haven, CT on shows like Friends! The Musical Parody, The British Invasion and so many more.

Recycle Shoe Project allows us to delve into our environmentally conscious side. We are working to grow this brand and educate communities on how easy it is to reduce their carbon footprint by recycling their gently worn shoes with this social enterprise and raise money for their favorite charities.

2021 was an incredible year of growth, change and transformation. Bringing in new clients, developing new relationships and cultivating old relationships has been my focus this year and it has been life changing. Even without a crystal ball, I anticipate another banner year in 2022 for Making Waves Marketing, myself and my team. Cheers!
